We found a home
We found a home that meets many of our requirements. It is exciting, we have been looking for some time without any luck. This particular home is a pre-foreclosure – it is in good condition structurally, but the previous owners evidently left in a hurry so it will need some cleaning up if we get it.
We have had a hard time finding homes that we like because we are looking for characteristics that don’t seem to be very popular in working class neighborhoods of large cities. We are looking for a home that is not a split plan, we would like all of the bedrooms close together and we would like a large yard since we plan on doing some gardening.
Unfortunately, it is difficult to find homes with a large yard in many major cities. Most families generally have both the husband and wife working their lives away and therefore they aren’t in the market for a large yard because they don’t have the time to enjoy the benefits of owning one. Years ago owning even a little land was a sign of wealth; these days however, owning a little land which is burdened by taxes and restricted by CC&Rs is merely a sign of probable debt and not very usable in income production.
Back to my topic – The final aspect is to find a home that is a good value without any major defects. Unfortunately in the United States with inflated property costs and debilitating property taxes, finding a good deal is arguably unachievable in the long run.
Nevertheless we have put in an offer and we are hopeful.
